FAIRTRADE ROSES FROM ETHIOPIA
Normally when Clients ask for a image film they want to tell facts and numbers. We wanted to change that narrativ into a poetic way, and EDEKA gave it a go. Addis Abeba welcomed us with the words: Welcome in the year 2010. We felt like Marty Mc Fly and Doc Emmet Brown for a few minutes. Fully equipped with gear from the future.
When you think of roses then you think of klischees. We didn’t want to hide it, but add something to it, because this story is more then “where are the roses come from.” We know that there is criticism about roses from Africa and we were sceptical. We didn’t want to be part of a greenwashing project. With our own hearts, minds and eyes we watched closely and found way more good things about this particular project then expected. Maybe because this farm is fair-trade certified. EDEKA works closely with them and builded a school, hospital, church, sport facilitys, etc. more info on: EDEKA fair-trade Rosen
For us this was a very exciting experience. We never thought about filming in Ethiopia. But were glad to visited this very interesting Country, full with friendly, laughing people.
